Nearly 6,000 runners and supporters have gathered on Facebook to help Staten Island recover in the weeks after Hurricane Sandy.
The group's next mission will take place at 8 a.m. ET on Sunday. Hundreds of runners are expected to meet at the Staten Island Ferry, take the 20-minute ride across the bay and run with book bags full of supplies to the borough's storm-ravaged neighborhoods. The runners who have organized this next mission will bring supplies and food door to door in the hardest hit neighborhoods including New Dorp, Oakwood Heights and Crescent Beach.
