Nearly 6,000 runners and supporters have gathered on Facebook to help Staten Island recover in the weeks after Hurricane Sandy.
The group's next mission will take place at 8 a.m. ET on Sunday. Hundreds of runners are expected to meet at the Staten Island Ferry, take the 20-minute ride across the bay and run with book bags full of supplies to the borough's storm-ravaged neighborhoods. The runners who have organized this next mission will bring supplies and food door-to-door in the hardest hit neighborhoods including New Dorp, Oakwood Heights and Crescent Beach.
