Frequent travelers who constantly fly across multiple time zones know how hard it is to even maintain a semblance of a "normal" sleep schedule. A new device from an Australian-based sleep research company might help out, and all you have to do is wear it like a pair of glasses.
The Re-Timer wearable light device can help you catch some z's by working to regulate your body's internal clock. The device emits a soft green light, which is supposed to mimic natural sunlight.
“Photoreceptors in our eyes detect sunlight, signal our brain to be awake, and set our rhythms accordingly,” Leon Lack, chief inventor and psychology professor at Flinders University in South Australia, said in a news release. Read more...

Hubble Photographs Potential 'Comet of the Century'

NASA's iconic Hubble Space Telescope has snapped stunning new photos of Comet ISON, which could become one of the brightest comets ever seen when it zips through the inner solar system this fall
Hubble captured the new photos on April 10, when Comet ISON was slightly closer than Jupiter. At the time the icy wanderer was about 386 million miles from the sun and 394 million miles from Earth.
The new images are already helping astronomers take a bead on the mysterious Comet ISON, which may shine as brightly as the full moon when it makes its closest pass by the sun in late November. (The comet poses no threat to Earth, NASA has said.) Read more...

Woman Travels Through Time in Iconic Images

What if time travel were a possibility? What moment in time would you choose to adventure back to and experience for yourself?
While we all might have different times we'd select for our journey, most of us wouldn't consider zipping through history without a camera in hand to capture the moment
Hungarian photographer Flora Borsi imagined the possibilities of time travel for her latest series. Borsi Photoshopped herself into iconic moments, peeking out behind crowds, fans and press for a historical game of Where's Waldo. But in every instance, she's completely awestruck and taking a picture of the moment on her digital camera (for future uploading to Instagram, of course) Read more...

The Father of Cyberpunk Tries Google Glass

If there's any piece of emerging technology that most closely resembles the cyberpunk imaginings of science-fiction writers, it's Google Glass. The product achieved a notable symbolic milestone this week when the creator of the cyberpunk genre, William Gibson, finally donned the futuristic gadget.
Gibson was headlining an event at the New York Public Library when an audience member offered to have the Neuromancer author wear it. Gibson, wearing a black shirt and jacket along with the austere headset, looks like he'd fit right in as a character in any one of many cyberpunk-inspired worlds that his novel helped create. Samsung Galaxy S4: Best Android Phone Ever

Samsung's Galaxy S III was one of the most successful Android smartphones of all time, but is the Galaxy S4 a worthy successor?
In a word: yes. The Galaxy S4 manages to build on the framework that helped Samsung sell over 100 million Galaxy S III devices in under 12 months, and it packs in new features and better specs to keep it competitive with the likes of the HTC One and other high-end Android devices.
Reviewing the Galaxy S4 isn't an easy task. That isn't because the phone is bad — far from it — but there are so many new features in both software and hardware, it's hard to know where to start and when to stop talking. Read more...

A Touchscreen You Can Pinch, Poke and Stretch

There are touchscreen displays and 3D displays, but now there’s one that combines the two: a flexible screen that users can pinch, poke and stretch.
The screen, designed by Dhairya Dand and Rob Hemsley, both of MIT’s Media Lab, is called Obake, named after a shape-shifting spirit of Japanese myth. It’s comprised of a flexible rubber sheet laid over a set of actuators. The whole thing sits under a camera built from a Kinect projector that beams images onto the sheet. The camera also measures how deep the screen is poked into it or how far its stretched.

BlackBerry has announced that its long-awaited keyboard phone running BlackBerry 10 software, the Q10, will launch on May 1 in Canada.
Canadian carriers Rogers Wireless, Bell Mobility and Telus will all offer the Q10. As is the norm in Canada, customers will need to sign a three-year contract to buy the phone for the subsidized price of $199. Customers will also be able to buy the phone from several retailers, including Future Shop and Walmart Canada.
The first country to get the Q10, however, will be the U.K. BlackBerry hasn't specified an exact date, only that it will be available sometime in April. The U.S. launch is equally unspecific, only that it would come by the end of May. BlackBerry says the Q10 will be priced so U.S. carriers will be able to charge $249 with a two-year contract.
