Furby, the must-have toy of 1998, is also the must-have toy of 2012.
Hasbro's updated version of the Furby appears to have sold well over the Black Friday weekend. The toy is now out of stock at Walmart.com and Furbys in various colors including black, white, blue and aqua are in short supply on Amazon.com.
Laurie Schacht, co-publisher of industry publication The Toy Insider, however, told The Wall Street Journal that she doesn't think the Furby will inspire the mania that Tickle Me Elmo and Zhu Zhu Pets did in previous holiday seasons because of the toy's $54 price tag.
