Apple Trims iPad Shipment Orders, Places Bets on Mini

Apple has reportedly cut back on the number of iPad it plans to sell in 2013.

A new report by DigiTimes indicates the company has scaled back from its original plans to ship 100 million tablets by the end of the year, trimming its order by 12 million.

Although Apple initially predicted shipments numbers would be 60 million iPads and 40 million iPad mini devices for 2013, it now believes the smaller tablet will sell better. The latest prediction, according to the report, is to ship only 33 million 9.7-inch iPads and a lot more of the iPad mini (55 million)
