Carrie Fisher to Return as Princess Leia in Next 'Star Wars' Movie

Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, will reprise her role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, she confirmed to Palm Beach Illustrated

Asked point blank whether she'll be in the next Star Wars film, Fisher answered with a simple "Yes"

She goes on to explain how she sees the Princess Leia of today. "Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle," Fisher said

Star Wars: Episode VII, which is coming out in 2015, will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who also directed the latest Star Trek movies. Harrison Ford is also rumored to appear in the new film, reprising his role as Han Solo
