Volvo has teamed up with Spotify to launch a voice-activated, in-car music system for its cars

The system, called the Sensus Connected Touch, will allow drivers to stream music (via a 3G/4G dongle or a mobile phone connection) through their dashboard. The system will be either touch- or voice-activated, with the drivers being able to start music simply by saying the name of a song

Volvo promises to regularly upgrade the Android-based system. Other apps available through Sensus Connected Touch are Google Maps, iGO-powered GPS navigation and TuneIn

Sensus Connected Touch (together with Spotify) will be available as a dealer-fitted accessory, from May 2013. It will be available in all the new Volvo cars — V40, V40 Cross Country, S60, V60, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80. Owners of some older models (from year 2011 onwards) will be able to retrofit it into their car as well
